On the weekend of November 25th, Alec Strause traveled to GA to compete in the “Dasani Mayor’s Cup Super Chps – GA Level 3 and southern level 3.” He advanced into the second round with ease by winning the first match of the tournament in straight sets. This however, meant he would compete against the number one seed. After a hard-fought battle, Alec fell just short of the win. This put him in the consolation bracket of the tournament. He managed to quickly rebound, and dominate the rest of the bracket by winning all of his matches, up to the finals, in straight sets. The consolation finals match opened up with a great first set in his favor. Continuing to play hard, he fell short in the second set to bring the match into a tie-breaker. With ease, he was able to bounce back and win the match in a blowout tie-breaker.
